Nurse Philatelic Stories with a Sampling of Exhibit Elements

Ann Byerly

Thursday, October 15, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (EDT)

Ann will present philatelic history as seen in postage stamps showing a nurse or nurses. Different philatelic elements will be used to illustrate nurses in philately for a stamp exhibit. Buying techniques and research resources will be discussed. Ann will show her favorite stamps.

An active philatelist, Ann serves as ATA chapter coordinator. These past months she has been attending meetings of ATA chapters via Zoom.

Ann tells us this about her collecting: In 1996, I attended the International Council of Nurses conference in Madrid, Spain.  Way in the back of the exhibition room, a nurse had mounted a huge banner type poster featuring stamps with nurses.  My heart and mind jumped for joy—I thought, “I can collect those stamps!”  I collected stamps from countries in which I lived from age 6.  Then at 30, I started my thematic collection of nurses and nursing.

Once you have registered, you will receive the log in information for this session.
