The Bird That Cries, “HELP!”

With Carol Edholm

Saturday, March 20, 4:00 p.m. Eastern

Join us as we explore a fascinating species of ornamental birds that are beloved, and hated, around the world: The peafowl.  Who are they?  Where did they originate?  Why are they so beloved and hated at the same time?  Find out why people who are unaware of these birds often call the police when their early morning slumbers are shattered by shrill cries of, “Help, help!”

Carol is a lifelong stamp collector who enjoys both country and topical collections. She has been extensively involved in youth philately, and more recently she has concentrated on researching, collecting and exhibiting peafowl. She is president of the Seattle Philatelic Exhibition (SEAPEX), an annual World Series of Philately (WSP) stamp show. In 2009 she was awarded the APS Kehr Future of Philately Award, and in 2010 she received the Meritorious Achievement Award from the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs.
