Eddie Hackstaff combines his enjoyment of topical stamp collecting with a favorite activity—rock and mountain climbing. In this presentation, we’ll look at how the mail was moved to and from the Mt. Everest expeditions starting in 1921 and up to the years just prior to 1940 when expeditions stopped due to World War II.

Eddie has been a rock climber, mountaineer and stamp collector for over half a century. In recent years he has focused on marrying his two passions, which has resulted in his specialization in the philatelic history of the Himalayan expeditions.
