Introduction to Exhibiting
with David Ball
Tuesday, February 3, 7:00 p.m. Eastern via Zoom
For everyone who has wondered whether they are ready for their first philatelic exhibit, this is your class. No commitment. Just a group of fellow novices considering a first exhibit. Do I have the right material? What story do I want to tell? Where do I start?
David S. Ball is a longtime exhibitor and nationally accredited philatelic judge. He taught the Exhibiting for Beginners course for APS and is eager to hear your ideas about sharing your passion for the first time.
The three-session class has three corresponding objectives. In Session 1, Exhibit Curious, anyone considering a first exhibit should attend. This does not commit you to exhibiting. It's an opportunity to learn what exhibiting is and whether it is right for you. Those ready for the next step will receive instructions on how to scan their material and map out their story.
This class is free. There will be two additional sessions for personalized help. You must register for those separately. (Summaries are listed below)
In Session 2, Heart of the Matter, we create Title and Synopsis pages and explore what makes for a good exhibit. Plenty of time for questions and to show your progress with others on the journey.
In Session 3, Exhibit Evaluation, we critique our efforts to put our best foot forward. David is available by email or phone during your journey to answer questions and provide encouragement.
